Apple's Rumored Black Friday Advertisement

There is a rumored Apple Black Friday Advertisement promotional flyer going around the internet (see image to the right) that states the following sales:

  • Up to 30% off all iPods (iPod Shuffle excluded)
  • Up to 25% off all Macs
  • Up to 15% off all accessories, Apple software and Apple hardware

First, the advertisement isn't entirely convincing. If you take a look at the advertisement, look at how "lumpy" the red ribbon on the left is. When you consider how professional the rest of the advertisement looks, doesn't the ribbon seem a bit sloppy?

Second, last year Apple was supposed to be aggressive on Black Friday and some even expected $100 off a few Mac models. The actual discounts? $51 off their $999 entry-level MacBook, $101 off their newest unibody MacBooks and varied $51 or $101 discounts on their aluminum iMac desktops ranging from $1148 to $1698. (Thanks to DaveGee at SD for the research)

Not to say that this year won't be different, but you might find much better sales at Apple resellers like at MacMall's 96-Hour Apple Sale.

Thanks for Visiting and Tell Your Friends!

This looks like a scan of an actual announcement, so it could be a real red ribbon attached to a letter/announcement.

So is this legit, anybody know yet. I have an iTouch on my Christmas list. I had asked for the 8gb to save money, but if this sale is legit I can get the 32gb for a just a few bucks more.

There is NO way this is legit. Apple has never discounted iPods or Macs anywhere close to 25-30% and it ain't going to happen this friday.

Expect it to much very much like last year.

Will the MacMall 96 hr apple sale be better than the 48 hr sale that is going on now....I am guessing that after Thanksgiving prices would be better than current??!

Notice the BGR logo in the bottom left-hand corner? That logo matches the logo on the "Boy Genius Report" site located at http://www.boygeniusreport.com/. However, you can see from Apple's site that they are planning on something for Black Friday. http://store.apple.com/us/browse/campaigns/black_friday_teaser?mco=MTU1OTU2NzQ
