Kind of expected an underwhelming ad, given the retailers are suffering and can't afford the risk of deep discounts this year. Of course, the media will still crow about the "great" deals, and the sheep will buy into it and line up right after Thanksgiving lunch. Meijer, Walmart and Frys may still salvage something, but odds are Amazon and Newegg will be where it's at again this year.

All the same, thanks for the post, and all you do!
batjens at 11/13/09 09:43am
Totally agree with Rockstar. I mean come on, front page is a PS3 for $299? I know it comes with extras, but it's not a blow you away, camp out all night deal. Also where's the $99 HDTV's? I was sure we'd see a 19" Dynex for that price. Nope $149.

I have been looking for a Nikon P90 and that is a great price, but nothing else screams "gotta buy it even if I don't need it!"
hobberton at 11/13/09 10:09am
what a bummer of an ad. Not to mention, the last page of the ad scan is from last years ad. Looks like i'll be shopping online this year. No sense in fighting the crowds over these prices.
tommyschw at 11/13/09 10:22am
Yeah what's the last page all about? Is this Ad Entirely legit?
janinerd at 11/13/09 10:48am
We have been keeping our eyes out for a DSi bundle that we like...This is a good one for us but wondered about the Metallic Blue...There is no word of that being in the US yet. Is that something I can buy online or am I going to have to wait it out in line at the store? Anyone have words of wisdom for me?

Thanks
living4fire at 11/13/09 11:03am
Like the others are saying, nothing special here. To be honest most of the ads released this year are nothing special, I will most likely be shopping Sears this year for some tools, nothing else seems the slight bit appealing. I think retailers are going to be getting less business this thanksgiving.
dphs1 at 11/13/09 11:18am
This ad sucks! Though its better than last year. Im going to be inline for the Compaq $179 laptop thats about it. Then again target has the 32" for $246
itprogrammer at 11/13/09 11:47am
All the uppers must have had a secret retailers conference and decided that since sales slumped all year, that they would rob us blind on BF instead of have great deals. Well I say they can keep their BF deals, this has to be the worst bunch of BF ads I have ever seen. They do have time to change them yes, but will they? Doubt it. I am sleeping in and probably won't even wonder out later on principal.
GaryBoz at 11/13/09 11:55am
It says that the sale starts at 7am. Is that a typo?
TerrenceP at 11/13/09 11:56am
This is very disappointing
carrie8561 at 11/13/09 12:02pm
I read an article that WalMart said they would absolutely not be beat in prices this year, I'm betting on them or sleepin in...
xtremeranger at 11/13/09 12:04pm
Wow....these 'deals" SUCK!
cjmarley at 11/13/09 12:17pm
At least SOMEBODY is offering a blue-ray player for $99. Unfortunately, I don't bother with BestBuy on black friday. The line is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too long to get in.
Darkstar3330 at 11/13/09 12:24pm
the ad says 5 am, I thought?
sah0620 at 11/13/09 01:06pm
I believe that's Star Trek "The Voyage Home", not "First Contact" as it says in the sales information, for $7.99. Scan is a little fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure that's McCoy and not Riker on the bottom, no beard.
delphis at 11/13/09 01:18pm
Yea, those discs are 'The Voyage Home' (blue writing) and 'The Wrath of Khan' (orange writing)
delphis at 11/13/09 01:20pm
I'd also like to know if it's 5am or 7am. I'm hoping 7am then I can go to Target and Staples first.
tommyschw at 11/13/09 01:33pm
It looks like they removed the bogus last page from the AD, it looks correct now.

And yes it repeats it a few times that they open at 5AM
charlesd222 at 11/13/09 02:51pm
Wow nothing good at all! Besides maybe the Itunes cards or a CD and one of those Xbox 360 games that about all I would get out of Best Buy this Black Friday. By no means it is worth it to wait in line for so I may go their during the morning sometime. Targets ad wasn't too bad... that may be a place where I will be waiting in line this year. Old Navy wasn't too bad as well. Hopefully Walmart will be good! The way it looks now, Walmart may not have to drop the prices for their sale too much as the compentitions aren't great as it stands now. REMEMBER, these advertisements aren't 100% accurate!! They could just be a "possibility" or a dummy so we don't know the exact one yet. I guess we will have to wait and see for Walmart and we will all know for sure Thanksgiving day when we buy the paper what we are in for. I guess I may not have to get up as early as I planned to go wait in line after all....
illustr8r at 11/13/09 03:56pm
Feh. You're all trying too hard to find fault. Myself, I'm good for the Virgin X-TC and a 32" Samsung TV. And possibly the PS3; glad I waited on that one.
Scaramanga at 11/13/09 04:07pm
Everyone is complaining too much. The last 3 years I've been religiously watching BFAds, everyone has said the deals are not good every year for almost every ad. What year WERE the deal good then? And this Best Buy ad is pretty good. "Good deals" are all relative to what you need, even if you'll save only $30 its better then nothing especially if the item is something you need or a gift. I'll be having fun this Black Friday while most of you "sleep in" and prove to the stores their deals aren't good enough for you to get up.
P.S. They wont notice that your not there. There will be plenty of people to fill your spot in line.
:)
buckeyemom1979 at 11/13/09 04:39pm
I am very disappointed with best buy... I have been waiting and watching for them to post but after seeing the ad I will ot be going to Best Buy this year. I hope that the few remaining stores to post will be worth the wait. If not I will be going to target.
buckeyemom1979 at 11/13/09 04:56pm
Yes you can get teh metallic Blue in the US. But just to keep in mind you can get teh same deal at target with the Target 20 gift card... either in blue or white. And it comes with a game...
onesojourner at 11/13/09 05:11pm
I think you guys missed that 4ft monster cable hdmi cable. It's only $12.50 a foot. Monoprice better watch out with deals like that...
Brooksc09 at 11/13/09 05:12pm
Left 4 dead 2 on Xbox 360 for $34.99 I'll definitely swinging there for that
zone8worker at 11/13/09 05:36pm
I think the LED is a pretty good deal. The desktop package is nice. Alot of the TVs are relatively good deals. Not the greatest BF this year, but its alright
Anonymous at 11/13/09 07:06pm
Wow....these 'deals" SUCK!
moawia at 11/13/09 07:25pm
ok this year and last years best buy ads are crap nothing good at all, ok the deal on the led is great $1000 off but who the F*** can afford that TV. and the laptops don't have much discount, the models aren't even that great. and last year office depot had great deals, and by great i say from 50%-75% off this year nada.
vose23 at 11/13/09 08:34pm
Most of the deals dont compare, but if anyone is looking for a desktop - $499 for that one looks great - 8g, quad core and 1tb of memeory is monsterous.
rosie0815 at 11/13/09 10:05pm
Does anyone know if best buy will be offering its black friday deals online this year or in store only?
yankees35 at 11/13/09 11:31pm
Where are the $200 laptops & desktops!!
black87 at 11/14/09 01:03am
I'm confused about the sony vaios on the best buy black friday ad, I don't see any vaios with Intel pentium dual core processors on the Best Buy website and I don't remember seeing any in their stores, I do know they have a 15.5" Vaio with Intel Core Duo for $650 and the one with blu-ray is $699, are those the same ones that are gonna be on sale for $399 and $479 on black friday?
readysetgo at 11/14/09 05:51am
what size screen is the compaq
joeblackfriday at 11/14/09 10:37am
Did you guys forget that the "real" black friday deals from Best Buy every year get posted on their website right before black friday? Yeah...the ad isn't great but I'm holding out for those in-store deals that they advertise online. There is still hope. Let's see what big blue does.
atrl at 11/14/09 07:50pm
I will be laughing at the people on the news saying they're waiting overnight for a laptop. The netbooks are an 'ok' price, still not worth waiting overnight.
JCB at 11/16/09 10:01am
I think they did Joe...i think they did
JCB at 11/16/09 10:28am
Are these instore deals only or are the prices available online as well?
TheDude at 11/16/09 03:12pm
Most of you people are surprised that Best Buy doesn't have good sales. I am not surprised at all. Ever since Circuit City went out of business Best Buy and their great sales have really went down hill. I remember last year both Circuit City and Best Buy had a huge selection of DVDs for cheap and this year with CC gone Best Buy has about 30 DVDs on sale(and only about 4 of them are worth buying). I am not like most of you people on here, I am not looking for the big items, I am looking for Video Games and DVDs. And in those categories Best Buy is getting beat by K-Mart and Target, which is very very sad.
sjohnsoncomodo at 11/17/09 01:23pm
livePCsupport (antivirus + firewall + 24/7 support)will be 50% off Black Friday thru Cyber Monday. It'll only be $19.50. www.livepcsupport.com/blackfridayoffer
AnthonyL19 at 11/23/09 04:45pm
I saw the Black Friday ads and I agree there is nothing to get excited about. I think the only thing that's good is available right now. Apple products discount.
Dave1286 at 11/25/09 10:40am
Wow, There is no limit to how much people will complain. Maybe if everyone, who could afford to, was a little more generous this season next year the deals will be better. I'd rather the companies make some money and hire more people. Are these blogs just made for people to complain.
