Best Buy Secret Sale Item Listing Released
Best Buy just released their Black Friday Secret Sale Item listings on their website.
The list is divided into two sections, the first are deals that will be available both online and in-store, while the second are deals that will be available in-store only. We have posted the online available items in our 13-item Best Buy Online Black Friday listing.
Best Buy states that you will be able to "start shopping early at BestBuy.com on Thursday, Nov 27th," but does not list a time.
What's funny is that all but one item, in the in-store only list, were already advertised in the Best Buy Black Friday advertisement. The item missing from the Black Friday advertisement? The HP G50-104NR Laptop with Canon 3-in-1 Printer.
According to the Secret Sale List this laptop will be $349.98, however, when you click on the link, the price shows $279.99.
We're currently trying to find out which price is accurate and will update when we learn something.
Previous year's secret sales were *not* available online. In store only.
and vista runs really really slow...
Has anyone tried buying it today? lol. It says 279$ in-store, and it says available today. If you look for package deals on laptops without clicking that doorbuster link on bestbuy website the product is listed.
Hmmm...
Meanwhile, since it was a limit of 1 per person, I called my sister-in-law. (I was supposed to be getting one for my dad and one for my brother-in-law.) The guy behind the counter had said he would accept a phone order (before the snafu with the price), so she called in to the store and waited on hold for about 20 minutes.
Well, when she got through to customer service, that girl there pushed through the price adjustment no questions asked! My sister-in-law called me back, so I left the laptop kiosk area and physically went to the customer service counter, and bought mine that way too. The girl at customer service was more than happy to do the adjustment, but the guy in the computer area, you could tell he wasn't overjoyed at it. I didn't feel like he was purposefully stalling us until the error was fixed, but I felt that the people he was talking with on the phone were stalling both him and us.
Less than 10 minutes later, the price was corrected online.
i get a page load error constantly, looks like some weird proxy redirect thing can we just get a straight up link?
I was hoping to see that they would have more Blu-Ray DVD specials.
It looks like i will be skipping Best Buy on Black Friday and will be going to Circuit City for Black Friday.
Thanks for your reply but you didn't have to be so crappy about it. I, apparently like several others in this post, seemed to have had a problem with my comment posting several times when I only submitted it once.
Enjoy the sweet deal!
In Orlando area, manager got there at 6:30 and had 21 people lined up outside. Only those with the printout in their hand were able to buy it at that price.
According to computer manager at my Best Buy, they lost $650 on each deal.

If this is the best we can expect, it's going to be Bloody Friday instead of Black Friday, because retailers are going to take it in the shorts this year.
this morning for usd199 online

Again, for $279 I can do what I need to make it work better on my end.

I cannot go out on Friday morning, so online is my only shot...and I don't want to miss the starting time.
Thank you!
It really just comes down to what you want to use it for. For a home computer....I only use it to surf the web, listen to music and watch DVD's, and use Micosoft Office every once in a while. Sor for me, the DELL is actually a better choice due to screen size, in home service plan (Shipping a laptop all over the US for service is not fun), and the fact that I am too old to spend all night out in the cold. Now if you are a gamer/video editor it is a no brainer, you need the extra RAM and faster processor/video card. But, if you are using the laptop for these purposes I don't know if the HP is the way to go either (I would want atleast 4GB RAM and an upgraded video card).
One last thing about Vista running on 1GB RAM. IT WILL BE JUST FINE! Vista will keep most of your RAM in use whether you have 1GB or 4GBs. That's just the way it is set-up to run. Basically, it takes control of the RAM and allocates as needed. So in turn the computer will show that it is using the full 1GB, but really most of that is simply being allocated by VISTA.
People keep talking about RAM like it is the solution to every computer slowdown in the world. 1GB, 2GB, and now 4GB. Just because it is cheap doesn't mean it is the right thing to do. My Vista install barely ever shows greater than 1GB memory usage. For surfing the web and e-mail there is no reason anyone would need more than 1GB. If you use Photoshop and are constantly encode/transcode media + DLNA server etc., then you might need 2 or 4GB depending.
Hope this helps anyone on the fence about which BF laptop to buy.
someone said that the Bestbuy Manager told him,
that the secret sale items will be release tommorrow
@ 11, did say pm or am, I would think am, also
not sure what time zone, but again this may or
may not be true, we will find out tommorow...
THis is black friday people!
$349.99 at Office Depot
Though some people will be disappointed that the price on budget notebooks hasn't seemed to budge much further south this year, the hardware you get for the price has taken a huge leap forward. For the first time ever, $350 will buy you a notebook that not only has a dual-core Intel processor, but 3GB of RAM as well, which should be more than adequate for most peoples' needs. And though it's an obscure sale model, it carries the HP name as well.
The HP is a better laptop than the Dell for $300. The $50 extra for the HP (or $20 less depending on price) is well worth it. The only drawback is the 120GB hard drive, but if you are buying this laptop in the first place, I doubt a smaller hard drive is a huge concern of yours.
I'd hate to be someone that took PC advice from you. They'd get some terrible advice from the looks of it.
I am glad I bought it when they put it up around 2 am because it says its already sold out.
