Actually, the Walmart KitchenAid mixer is a much better deal. The Artisan is not a bad mixer, but you will find that the flip back top is no way near as good as the lift stand mixer and the other differences between those two mixers is negligible. That $130 dollars is the cheapest price I have ever seen for that mixer. Go with the Walmart one.

Yes, I saw the Walmart deal and I'm SO excited to finally get my new mixer! However, when I see the Amazon site, it shows a price of $448.99 - I don't see the sales price of $209.99 mentioned above. Where is that? Please let me know.

Hover/Click on the colors mentioned above. The page defaults to Chrome, which isn't listed for the same price.

Did you guys notice that the model number for the WalMart mixer is different on the actual website than what is listed on the ad here? I'm thinking that it's a typo. The website has the model number as K4555WH and on here it is K45SSWH?

The Amazon offer is for a 5qt and the Wal-Mart is for a 4.5qt. I agree w/ a past poster, the bowl lift is a far better mixer. Especially if you plan to do an bread dough or other thick mixes. It's worth the extra $$ for the bowl lift if you use it a lot. If you are just looking for stand mixer to avoid using a hand mixer, the flip head will work for you.
Happy shopping everyone!

Heads up...Yes, the Walmart deal is FANTASTIC! However, it is the 4.5 quart model. Not really much difference and is fine, too. Just letting you know there is a difference. (apples and oranges) :):):) Happy Shopping!!

They made a mistake. The Artisan is $299 retail. The Pro 500 (325W, bowl lift) is $349 retail. Amazon has the Pro 500 for $299/free shipping, so no real deal from Sears, other than local pickup.

The cheapest deal right now is the K4555WH (300W, bowl lift) for $130.

If you have a Costco account, I think the ProHD model (475W, bowl lift) they have for $230 would be the best deal overall if you want/need the added power..

Actually, I checked the KitchenAid website, and there must be a mistake regarding the WalMart ad. The model # listed as K4555WH should probably be K45SSWH. There is not a 300 watt mixer shown in their products at all. The K45SSWH is a tilt back, 250 watt, with a 4.5 quart bowl. Hope this helps!

drdand,

There might just be a model specific for WallyMart on BF. Wouldn't be the first time (and not showing on the manufacturers site...

Looking at the Amazon sale link, there is supposed to be a 6QRT/575W Pro600 mixer for $250 after $50MIR...

deathrider,
Thanks for the tip about the Pro600. I just ordered it for my daughter. It's just what she was wanting :)
