Panasonic 42" 1080p Plasma Televsion - $807 at 6ave

6th Ave has the Panasonic Viera TH-42PZ80U 42" 1080p Plasma HDTV for $807 Shipped (tax in New York and New Jersey) when you use 5% off coupon AFL5 during check-out.
Earlier this year, I purchased a similar Panasonic Plasma television from 6th Avenue and their service was excellent. Great customer service and very fast shipping.
This is an excellent price for this television and may be lower than the prices we see on Black Friday. Sears' Black Friday advertisement has the same television listed for $899.99! Buying now through 6th Avenue would save you almost $100 + tax for people not in New York and New Jersey.
Panasonic Plasma's have great picture quality and are considered the best Plasma television manufacturer for the price. You can read all the positive reviews for this television on Amazon.com, where the television is also available for sale through 6th Ave for $850 (can't use a coupon code through Amazon).
Burn-in is a practically a non-factor in Plasma televisions now and the half-life brightness for this plasma is 100000 hours, which equates to about 34 years if you use the television 8 hours a day.
Having said that... this TV is amazing for watching movies. Simply amazing. If you primarily only use a TV for watching movies then I'd say this is the deal for you. Also, you'll want to make sure you can control the light in the room or only watch at night. It is very susceptible to light. I had this TV in a basement and it was stunning.
If you can tell the difference between 1080p and 720p on a 42'' screen (some people can some can't) then I'd spend the mere extra $75 for the 1080p version. Also, you'll benefit with Blu-Ray movies only. That's pretty much the only 1080p content available.
I am not sure how much longer it will work for(It worked at 11:40 EST)
Most TV's today incorporate a technology such as pixel shifting to avoid burn in. I'm not sure what burn in protection this set has, but it works.
My only not so great comment....they offer free shipping, to the curb, if you want it to the door it is extra and if you want it inside, more still. I opted for the free and my UPS guy put it on a handtruck and brought it inside the house (1 level home) and put it down 10 feet from my intended location.
By 1:00 PM, it was unpacked (no easy feat), installed and working.
6th Ave. is now on my list of Absolutely Great companies...... oh, and I found out they are in New Jersey, not NYC, which probably explains a lot about their customer service..... $806.50 total.
THANKS BFADS!!!
