Panasonic 42" 1080p Plasma Televsion - $807 at 6ave

6th Ave has the Panasonic Viera TH-42PZ80U 42" 1080p Plasma HDTV for $807 Shipped (tax in New York and New Jersey) when you use 5% off coupon AFL5 during check-out.

Earlier this year, I purchased a similar Panasonic Plasma television from 6th Avenue and their service was excellent. Great customer service and very fast shipping.

This is an excellent price for this television and may be lower than the prices we see on Black Friday. Sears' Black Friday advertisement has the same television listed for $899.99! Buying now through 6th Avenue would save you almost $100 + tax for people not in New York and New Jersey.

Panasonic Plasma's have great picture quality and are considered the best Plasma television manufacturer for the price. You can read all the positive reviews for this television on Amazon.com, where the television is also available for sale through 6th Ave for $850 (can't use a coupon code through Amazon).

Burn-in is a practically a non-factor in Plasma televisions now and the half-life brightness for this plasma is 100000 hours, which equates to about 34 years if you use the television 8 hours a day.

This is a great TV. I was going to buy one at Sears last week, and they had agreed to give me the BF price as a rebate on BF.... so I drove over and .... they had sold out... and because it is a BF item, they have to wait until they get them from the distribution center. I left my credit card number and they agreed to hold one for me (which I just canceled). This is a great price and gets me the set a week earlier and $150 cheaper..... I have never dealt with 6th Ave. before, but since you say it's good, I am in for one...

I agree that this is a great TV. Plasma is not something I'm looking for as I watch a lot of stations with constant lower third graphics and sports with overlays. Also, playing Xbox 360 extensively I'd be worried about burn in. Its true that burn in is harder to do, but not impossible. It goes away in a day or so, but still that's not something I really want to deal with.

Having said that... this TV is amazing for watching movies. Simply amazing. If you primarily only use a TV for watching movies then I'd say this is the deal for you. Also, you'll want to make sure you can control the light in the room or only watch at night. It is very susceptible to light. I had this TV in a basement and it was stunning.

6th Ave has this Plasma TV for $848.96, not for $807

5% Coupon Code AFL5
Use it at checkout.
Brings the price down to $807

It is the 720p version of this TV for $739.
If you can tell the difference between 1080p and 720p on a 42'' screen (some people can some can't) then I'd spend the mere extra $75 for the 1080p version. Also, you'll benefit with Blu-Ray movies only. That's pretty much the only 1080p content available.

Use promocode WEBAD117 to get 6% off and it will total $798.02

I am not sure how much longer it will work for(It worked at 11:40 EST)

I was able to use the 6% off coupon code WEBAD117 however when I went to check out there was a problem submitting the order. I called customer service to have them place the order online and they charged me a flat $800 bucks. So they charged me an extra 2 dollars but Im not going to argue being that this is such a great deal! Also they offer a credit card promotion of 12 months no interest and no down payment with their own 6ave credit card which makes this deal even that much better. I've read the reviews on this tv and its an awesome buy. Don't pass it up if you are in the market for a tv!

I have the 720p model of this set. I'm always on Xbox Live gaming with my 360. I mean hours upon hours at a time. with no burn in. This is a really solid set by Panasonic. I'd highly recommend it to anyone. Its performance in a lit room is amazing as well, if your in a very bright environment the screen can be a little reflective. But in a normal room you shouldn't be worried. Being a heavy gamer, there's no greater experience then playing on a Plasma HDTV, no motion blur(plasma technology), and crisp picture.

Most TV's today incorporate a technology such as pixel shifting to avoid burn in. I'm not sure what burn in protection this set has, but it works.

After reading here, I did some quick online research and, with my spouse's concurrence, placed an order. Easy website. I paid $806.50, which was fine. (The wall bracket and the extra sound system will have to come later, when we can afford it....) If the delivery goes easily (we still shudder at the grief involved in getting a computer from Dell) this will be a perfect transaction. I would have never known about it without you guys so-- major kudos to you guys!

I would be remiss if I didn't post a followup. I ordered the set on Monday morning at 7:40 AM. Received a confirmation at 9:06 AM. Received a shipping notice at 11:32 AM. Yesterday, Wednesday, the set was delivered by UPS at 12:16 PM.

My only not so great comment....they offer free shipping, to the curb, if you want it to the door it is extra and if you want it inside, more still. I opted for the free and my UPS guy put it on a handtruck and brought it inside the house (1 level home) and put it down 10 feet from my intended location.

By 1:00 PM, it was unpacked (no easy feat), installed and working.

6th Ave. is now on my list of Absolutely Great companies...... oh, and I found out they are in New Jersey, not NYC, which probably explains a lot about their customer service..... $806.50 total.

THANKS BFADS!!!
