Sears & Kmart Announce their Black Friday Sale Hours
Sears will begin their in-store Black Friday sale at 8pm on Thanksgiving Day this year, according to their Friday press release.
Sears will remain open a full 26-hours until 10pm on Black Friday, during which they'll have two sets of door-buster sales: one beginning at 8pm on Thanksgiving and another at 4am on Black Friday.
This is quite the change from last year's 4am start-time when Sears was one of the few hold-outs on pushing up their opening times. Now they're in contention to take the title for earliest Black Friday sale this year.
Kmart, which has been open on Thanksgiving Day for the past 21 years, will again be open on Thanksgiving Day from 6am to 4pm this year.
They'll then re-open four hours later for their Black Friday sale at 8pm (on Thanksgiving Day). Interestingly enough, Kmart will then close again at 3am on Black Friday â only to reopen again for the second time at 5am (and staying open until 11pm).
Like Sears, Kmart will also have two rounds of Black Friday door-buster specials: one at 8pm on Thanksgiving Day and another at 5am on Black Friday.
For those who plan on shopping online this Black Friday, Sears and Kmart's online strategy is much simple: both Sears.com and Kmart.com will remain 24/7 shopping options and even offer same-day in-store pickup for online orders.
How do you feel about the 8pm Thanksgiving Day starts for Sears and Kmart this year? Do you like the earlier start with the possibility of being able to not having to stay up all night? Or do you think the Black Friday sales shouldn't start until Black Friday? Let us know in the comments!
