Staples Black Friday Advertisements Posted

A few hours ago we received two different versions of the Staples Black Friday advertisement. Several of our sources this year have confirmed that Staples will have multiple versions of their Black Friday advertisement, with each being valid only in a specific region. We don't yet know how many different regional variations of the Staples advertisement will exist.

Version #1

Version #2

Taking a quick look at the advertisement versions side-by-side show that there are significant differences in the prices listed. On the first page of Version #2 there is a HP Laptop shown. There is no laptop on the front page of Version #1.

We also have been unable to identify the specific regions that the two Staples advertisements will be valid in. There is nothing in them that specifically states which stores or regions the advertisement is valid in. Take note that staples will not be price matching other Black Friday advertisements, including their own.

If any of the items or prices at Staples grabs your attention, you will definitely want to verify closer to Black Friday that the price will be valid at your local Staples store.

In any case, we typed up the 136-Item Staples (Version #1) Black Friday Sale Listing. You can download the 6-Page Staples (Version #1 and Version #2) Black Friday Advertisement scans on our adscans download page.

If we receive any details regarding the Staples advertisement, we will be sure to update you.

Thanks for Visiting and Tell Your Friends!

Hmm doesn't look to bad. Just a quick question though, will the verifcations for the regions be out before black friday? And how about best buy? When will we know their final prices? Thanks!

You'll definitely know by Thursday, when the paper comes out in your area. ;) The prices are quite different on some of the items. Anyone know what the stock is like at Staples? Very few of the items or a lot?

Ehh, depends what items really. I haven't been there for a while, but I think they have a decent stock. So will the flyer in the paper on Thursday be the same thing for Best Buy? I plan on camping out on Thursday and I'm not even sure if I get the paper.

Maybe these things will be leaked in advance?

Definitely two different markets, but there's one big differentiator here:

"Version 1" has no early bird prices, at all. The circular shows all prices as valid Friday and Saturday alike. If there are markets where Staples has done this in the past, this is probably similar to your circular, and probably will appear in Sunday's (not Thursday's) paper.

"Version 2" has 6am-10am early bird specials listed. This one looks a lot more like the circulars I've seen in Thursday papers in the past, and is probably the more likely candidate for dense metro areas.

Oh, one other thing... "Version 2" is missing photos of the *middle* of most pages.

I first noticed that "Version 1" has internal hard drives and an APC UPS on Page07.jpg/Page08.jpg, but you can just barely see the top corner of the UPS unit sticking out of the bottom of "Version 2"'s Page_07.jpg -- it should have appeared between that and Page_08.jpg.

Looking closer, at the bars along the sides of pages, most if not all pages are missing middle sections in "Version 2".

doesn't wisconsin have some weird laws about not being able to sell items at loss (ie doorbusters). Ver. 1 can be for wisconsin. Other option is that vers. 1 is for rural markets, while vers. 2 is for metro ones.

Yes, "Version 1" could very well be a WI advertisement.

Version ad will be valid for region 14 at least... that region is all of texas and oklahoma as well as parts of arkansas.

At least for the Los Angeles area, the BF ad is now available at their website. Note that the price for the Western Digital My Book Essentil 640GB drive on the ad linked with the 91606 area(69.99) vs what is shown on the ad here (79.99). At $70 for 640 GB its worth it for me to get up at dawn. I sure hope these are NOT refurbs or I am going to be SO angry!!!
