New for 2007 is a completely rebuilt, redesigned Black Friday Ads website. With this entire rebuilding process, we've already started to introduce new features, improved the old features and will continue to roll-out new features to help better your Black Friday experience. Because of the amount of changes from 2006 to 2007, we've outlined a lot of the features below.

Site Navigation - The Header

The new design retains the structure of the old site with a new third column. Starting from the top, we've added a top navigation in the top right corner.

Here we have easy access to four pages:

• Hot Deals - Hot Deals not occurring on Black Friday. Most of these deals are "Hotter than Black Friday" where a Black Friday item will be available both before Black Friday and for less money.
• Advertisement Scans - A listing of all Black Friday Advertisements currently available in both .PDF and .ZIP formats.
• Features - All Special Pages (including Top Ranked Items, Comparison Pages) are located on our Features Page.
• Contact Us - Have a question or request? Don't hesistate to contact us.

Below them, we have a quick site search. Type in your search term and hit Enter or click on the Magnifying Glass and it'll return any search results. We also have an Advanced Search Page along with Tips for Searching.

The orange square next to the search box is a link to our RSS feed.

The left navigation is broken up into three tiers: navigation, partners and stores. The tiers are explained below.

• Contact Us - Have a question or request? Don't hesistate to contact us.
• Shopping List - Your own personal shopping list. The Shopping List feature is explained in detail here.

Stores

Stores that are bold and in black are considered active stores, meaning we have Sales Information for them. The number in parenthesis is the amount of sale items we have for the store. For example, Ace Hardware (39) means that Ace Hardware has 39 items in their Black Friday sale.

At the top, we have a Submit an Advertisement Button which leads to our Advertisement Submission Page.. If you or someone you know has access to a Black Friday advertisement, please do not hesistate to use our Advertisement Submission Page or email us directly at adsubmit@bfads.net. You can remain completely anonymous and can be compensated for your time.

The Registration Box is part of our newest and biggest feature, BFAds Membership. We cover BFAds Membership very thoroughly in the next section, you can click here to skip directly to the BFAds Membership & Registration section.

The Newest Activity Box features any recent updates to the site; you should see in the picture to the left that it has 39 items added to Ace Hardware being reported. This provides a reference for the newest material added and deleted from our site. At the moment, the only updates are additions to the Advertisement Listings, but soon will include added features and advertisement scans.

The BFAds Poll is used to gauge visitor trends and interests. All information is gathered anonymously and voting in the poll helps us better cater to you. If you have a good Poll Question, don't be afraid to submit it to us through our Contact Us Page.

BFAds Membership

Membership is a new feature for 2007! You can now save a shopping list, post comments, discuss on the forums and manage your mailing list subscription all through one account.

If you did not previously have a forums account, registration requires only your email address and desired username and password. A registration email will be sent to your email address to allow you to activate your account.

Users who have already registered on the forums can simply enter their forums email address and verify their previous account information in the Registration Form to activate their account.

To avoid receiving two email reminders, subscribers to the Mailing List should register their account with the same email address they used for the Mailing List.

Store Listings

We haven't changed much about the sale information lists, but for anyone new to the site or someone in need of a refresher, we've gone ahead and highlighted all the cool things you can do with the store listings.

Categorized and Uncategorized Listings

Back from last year is the category view. It's no fun searching through a list 200 items long when you're only interested in the toys in sale. By default, all of the sale information lists will be segmented by category (Apparel, Computer Components, Toys, etc.). If you would prefer to see the uncategorized list, just hit the "Hide Categories" button at the top of the list and it'll give you an uncategorized list.

Sort by Rating, Item Name and Price

You can sort all store listings by their Rating, Name and Price.

Click on those arrows and you can sort by the sale item's rating, name and price. Item ratings are a score of 1-5 stars (5 being the best, 1 the worst) of what fellow Black Friday visitors think of the deal. You can also sort the list alphabetically by Item Name or by Highest/Lowest Price.

Item Ratings

The star rating you see next to each item is a score of 1-5 stars (5 being the highest) of what fellow Black Friday shoppers think of the deal. Both guests and members are able to vote on items! If you like an item, hover over the amount of stars (the stars should appear in blue) you want to give that item and click. You have just submitted your ranking of an item to our database. Once you vote on an item, your vote (which will be in blue stars) will be the rating you see from now on.

In the above picture, the top two items have been voted on and reflect my personal rating of the items. I have not voted on the bottom two items and therefore I see the item rating determined by fellow Black Friday shoppers.

We have several security measures in place to prevent vote cheating, so there is no need to worry that the ratings are inflated.

Item Icons

To the right of the item name are up to 4 additional icons.

• - The item has a rebate. The rebated details are in green text right next to the icon.
• - Click this to see the advertisement scan of this individual item (opens in a new window)
• - Click this to see the product information at the store's website (opens in a new window)
• - This item is only valid during each store's "Early Bird" sales.

Shopping List

We've revamped the Shopping List feature this year. Before you start adding items to your Shopping List, make sure you are logged in if you have an account. Registration is not required to create a Shopping List, but it makes things easier.

Adding and Removing Items

To start adding items to your Shopping List, go to a store's item listings and hover over the item you want to add to your shopping cart. The row should be highlighted, as seen below:

Clicking on the row will should now turn the row to a blue color and it has now been successfully added to your Shopping List, as seen below:

To remove an item from your Shopping List, just click on the row again and it should return to its normal grey color.

Managing and Sharing Your Shopping List

To view your Shopping List, click on the "Shopping List" link in the left navigation, or if you're logged in, you can also click on the "My Shopping List" in your Welcome, User box (top right corner, green box).

If you are not logged in, you will be prompted with the following notice:

If you are logged in, you should see something similar to the list below:

From here, we can do the following:

• Clear List - Removes all items from your Shopping List. We recommend not pressing this button.
• Print List - Prints your Shopping List
• Send List in Email - Type in the Email Address of the Person you want to send your list to and then hit "Go"
• Enable Shopping List Sharing - New to 2007, share your list publicly by checking this box. When you check the box, a URL of your list will appear below. You can send that URL to anyone and they will be able to see your Shopping List.

Additionally, another way to remove items from your Shopping List is to click on the in the Delete column.
