We've compared the $299 Walmart Compaq laptop with the $299 BestBuy eMachines laptop in our $299 laptop battle post earlier today. The verdict: Walmart's Compaq is better by a slim margin, but you might have a better chance getting the eMachine from Best Buy. Either one is a good buy!

I got the laptop, its a great deal. I think they had 40 of them, and I was among the last 3 to get it. I went and stood in line at 6:30, they let us in at 7 and we waited in another line. The sale started at 8 am.

Among other stuff, the PS2 for effectively $99 was also a great deal, there were about 8 PS3s left when my turn came and 2 TVs.

Just getting home from driving an hour away for Best Buy's Private event. What a JOKE! They had nothing more than their regular sales. What a disappointment!!! Please tell me it was only my store in M'boro, TN that was so bad.
