Walmart Black Friday Advertisement Posted

We just posted the 250-item Walmart Black Friday Advertisement Listings and the 28-page Walmart Black Friday Advertisement Scans. Both were provided to us directly from Walmart, who is allowing us to release these ads exclusively to our visitors 3-days before the general public will see them.

This is easily the best advertisement we've seen so far this Black Friday. We'll have to see if any other retailers have tricks up their sleeves this weekend or early next week, or else it looks like the top advertisement will be Walmart's.

Items of note are:

The only real surprise to me is that they don't have a $300 laptop in their Black Friday advertisement. Walmart offered one earlier this November, it doesn't make sense why they wouldn't have a similar model in this advertisement. Other than that, a very solid ad from Walmart.

Thanks for Visiting and Tell Your Friends!

Great!!

I'll be hooked to my computer!
Blaxican at 11/21/08 01:58pm
so it seems so far the best xbox deal is that one online posted yesterday???? the $254 bundle
ckt at 11/21/08 02:12pm
Just a tip for you all, Wal-Mart price matches Black Friday ads (in most areas)... and they generally start their BF sales an hour before the others. So if you take your other ads into Wal-Mart, you could be done before the other stores even open (and avoid the outdoor lines, because most Wal-Marts open 24 hours let you wait inside).

I can't wait to see their ad this year, though...maybe it'll be better than the other big box electronics ads.
ckt at 11/21/08 02:25pm
Wal-Mart is doing some pre-BF deals, but those prices aren't correct ($24 for a BD player, come on! I'd even switch for that!).

Maybe you guys should just wait for all the items to be added and edited...
Anniez69 at 11/21/08 02:38pm
Where are you seeing this ?
ckt at 11/21/08 02:40pm
It's been taken off now. It was just a typo (I assume).
barnums at 11/21/08 02:44pm
Wow, I expected their 32" to at least as low as $350. Doesn't someone else have a 350 32"?

superneal74 at 11/21/08 03:34pm
Wow..Walmart is not playing around this year....too many deals to count.
watchingbf at 11/21/08 04:41pm
are these deals also available online or only in-store?
maxie333 at 11/21/08 04:52pm
Maybe it is just me but I just don't see what everyone else is seeing?!?!?! I look for bargains (cheapest) and right now by far number 1 is Best Buy! They have the cheapest desktop, cheapest digital camera, and the second cheapest laptop. Dell has the cheapest one even though it is a netbook. I definitely will not be going to Walmart.

ASTEWFAM at 11/21/08 05:59pm
yeah thats what i wamt to know if these walmart prices are good online also
mandapanda31 at 11/21/08 06:10pm
Any word yet on if these deals will be available online at Walmart on Black Friday?
noahark21 at 11/21/08 06:58pm
Normally these prices are good in store only :(
watchingbf at 11/21/08 07:30pm
Darn I guess I cant shop by keyboard lol.Have to try and get an xbox 360 seems like a decent deal.
gumper11 at 11/21/08 09:10pm
46 inch samsung is the exact same price at 3 other stores (Circuit City, Sears, Best Buy)
cesperon at 11/21/08 10:15pm
Is is just me or are the black friday ads suckish this year? What happened to all those fab deals we were supposed to see?

So far I haven't found a reason to get up early on Friday. What a dissappointment this year.
kimandjerome at 11/21/08 10:18pm
Not sure how true this is... but I have a source telling me that Walmart will have this ad, another ad in the Thanksgiving Day paper and then a 5am ad on Black Friday :)

Sounds like Walmart is going to be one hoppin place!
lionelhuts at 11/21/08 10:48pm
I'm with you. Even these Walmart TV "deals" can be had right now on Amazon for not much more. And the sad part is that these "deals" are the best of the BF lot. The only decent sale is the DS3 at Radio Shack IMO.
bfrulz at 11/21/08 11:32pm
I was very disappointed by Walmart's ads. I was hoping to find good deals on things like a digital picture frames, laptops, etc. but other places have them cheaper this year... tsk tsk. Anyone know if they're plan on releasing more ads? You know... save the best for last (minute)? :)
beta_t at 11/22/08 12:03am
Okay the electronics aren't that exciting to me since I was able to get the 46 inch 1080P Sanyo a couple of weeks ago for 798 and the laptop for my brother for 299 (thanks bfads!)

BUT $8 for a pair of jeans is unreal... I'm so going to go get me at lease six pairs of those jeans. I wear jeans every day now that I get to work from home, and that is just too good to pass up. I might get that $90 LCD tv stand too.
smartshopper562 at 11/22/08 12:56am
I think most of Walmart stuff are priced right, for today uncertain and troubled economy, versus some of the other retailers. These low-priced jeans, jackets, etc. does really help keep families warm, especially for any ones of millions of families who are dealing with our unemployment, foreclosure, etc.
libinatorsmom at 11/22/08 10:19am
There are some decent deals and I am hoping to grab a few things for my daughter but I guess I am hoping there are more deals yet to come before the holidays are here... nothing makes me want to go stand in line at 3 in the morning like I have done before...
creepymama at 11/22/08 10:23am
"Both were provided to us directly from Walmart, who is allowing us to release these ads exclusively to our visitors 3-days before the general public will see them."

I got Walmart's black Friday ad in the mail yesterday......So did everyone else I know. I just assumed that they released it to everyone yesterday.
bigtex2000 at 11/22/08 10:34am
Good stuff! About the surprise that Walmart doesn't have a $300 computer door buster deal like others, I noticed in Dell's ad that there's a $299 slim desk top ... looks very cool. AND I can stay in my PJ's to buy it!!
GaryBoz at 11/22/08 10:47am
I'm really liking this Walmart ad. Good stuff for sure.
socrates at 11/22/08 12:22pm
ok so i was looking into the xbox 360... it's the lowest xbox 360 with the least amount of options. biggest killer was no hard drive, which you need to download games, video and music if you want to use it to it's full capacity. It uses a 256MB memory unit instead! boo

also, you can buy a hard drive for it, but it'll have to be "locked" or something. Not very familiar with xbox's and trying to do this research on the fly.

can anyone else comment on this deal?

thanks!

robertar67 at 11/22/08 12:38pm
They've got a $30 8" dig pic frame...who has one cheaper?
robertar67 at 11/22/08 12:41pm
exclusively, make me laugh. It's been on slickdeals for 2 days. Did they just decide that since everyone thought it was the best BF deals they'd seen this year that they'd go ahead & release it?

I would have liked to have seen their faces if bfads had said, NO THANKS, we'll wait til Monday!

Sorry, spitefulness has always been a weakness. *sneer*
susiejwp at 11/22/08 12:59pm
So let me get this right....the deal for the XBOX 360 with guitar hero for $199 is NOT a good deal? I have a teen age son who is interested in the 360 but "uninformed Mom" here is clueless as to which one is the best one to buy. Can any of you who are commenting here give me a clue? thank!
sksiegrist at 11/22/08 01:41pm
Everyone needs to be careful where you buy this year some stores are closing after Christmas so becareful about warranties.
BruceM at 11/22/08 01:45pm
This is a great site but could somebody tell me where the Best Laptop deal is ?

So much information on here,,,I'm overwhelmed but love the site..thanks
ttp at 11/22/08 02:24pm
The xbox 360 is $200 originally, and the guitar hero game with the controller is $80. So if you bought them seperately, it would be $280. If you got them here, you would just save $80.

Here is the thing though. The $200 xbox 360 doesn't have a hard drive. Hard drives are used to store game demos and extra songs (from guitar hero) downloaded from the internet. Chances are, your typical xbox 360 user is going to need a hard drive. But some people can and do live without it. It really depends on the person.

You could always get a separate hard drive somewhere if it was needed down the line, but i personally wouldn't choose that route. It might get complicated. I guess that's all I can help with. Don't let me be the only opinion to sway you.
kbrading at 11/22/08 04:09pm
And how do we find which stores these are that are closing?
aarads at 11/22/08 04:16pm
So I have never been to Walmart before on Black Friday. Can anyone tell me if they do anything special with the items, like give tickets? And is everything placed in their respected departments, or just skewed everywhere like Target? I would go to a 24 hour super Walmart so I know you can wait inside, but are there different sections to the store you need to wait for what you want? Also, do toys sell out pretty quickly or can I come in a little later to get what I want?
Kodeysmom at 11/22/08 05:17pm
walmart USUALLY sets everything up on pallets in the aisles and passes out maps as you walk in the door.
tracel at 11/22/08 08:02pm
I was lucky enough to get the $298 compaq laptop a few weeks ago. It looks to be one of the best deals I've seen so far this season. I expected with the economy that there would be a whole lot better Black friday specials.
toppsman1980 at 11/22/08 08:09pm
What ad had a $300 doorbuster on a computer??? The one on dell is 299 but it also has an 8.9" screen and hardly no. Wal-Mart has a really good ad compared to all retailers thus far.
easytoentertain at 11/22/08 10:58pm
I work at a walmart and we set everything up on pallets or the center displays. There should be maps with most of the items handed out as you come in and everything is typically in the correct department or near the correct department. The only break of this rule is that there is sometimes items at the entrance to the store. I think that the reason we don't have some of the 'huge' deals everyone was hoping for was that with the economy the stores really need the income from those big ticket items. If you sell the big ticket item for a bunch less you are losing that income. Thats my thoughts on it at least. Also we have a new CEO or something like that and they are making walmart a lot less family oriented that it used to be. The walmart I work at is not a 24 hour store and this is the first year we will be open on thanksgiving itself.
xtremeranger at 11/23/08 01:33am
I was looking at buying(or shooting for) that Toshiba laptop, but I googled it....the MSRP on that thing is $596!!! so $548 is NOT that gooda deal...
Taide1075 at 11/23/08 09:16am
Question, if Walmart let you wait inside, that mean that you can grab the items you want to buy and wait until is time or they have a designated area to wait or at least you can look around and find the items you want. Any idea. I want something from Walmart but I have never being there on BF. Thanks.
Taide1075 at 11/23/08 09:18am
When is the best time to go to Walmart for the BF sales?
AuburnQT at 11/23/08 11:03am
Question re: Guitar Hero Dual Pack for Wii with Guitar Hero Aerosmith and Guitar Hero III Legends of Rock for $50. Does this come with the actual guitar, or is this an "ad on" game for those who already have the guitar? (Clueless Mom here.)
AuburnQT at 11/23/08 11:14am
Yes, you can wait inside. No, you can't grab the items you want ahead of time - not most of them, anyway. (Possibly soft lines.) Toys, electronics, small appliances, etc., will be on pallets wrapped with shrinkwrap. What you do is get there early enough to figure out where all your items are - then you have to make the choice as to what's most important to you, and stake out a spot next to that pallet. At 5am, the shrink wrap is torn off the pallets and the feeding frenzy begins. If at all possible, shop in pairs so you can cover different areas of the store. But if you don't have anyone among your family or friends who is as bargain-crazy as you are, WalMart Black Friday shoppers are a helpful, friendly bunch (in my experience). There's almost always someone nearby you who wants the same items that you do. So you work out a deal to grab 2 of X and they'll head down the aisle and grab 2 of Y and then you swap.
tandski at 11/23/08 12:54pm
Last year I drove by a Walmart at 9:00pm on Thanksgiving and there was already a line of about 75 people, that was in Richmond, VA. Not everyone needs to go that early, it depends on what you are looking to get. The more popular the product, the earlier you need to be there.
satter127 at 11/23/08 01:19pm
I live in the French Quarter, but the nearest Walmart is about ten miles away. So, I got to Walmart at about 2:30am and I was number 11 in line. It really depends where you live. Two years ago, I went to JCPenny for their 4am doorbuster sale, and there were tons of people there. I would suggest just staying up after Thanksgiving or around 10pm on Thanksgiving driving by your Walmart and looking at the turnout. Hope this helps.
dlovern at 11/24/08 12:50pm
It really depends on your town. I live in a very small town and there are few items that 'sell out' before 10am. If we really want something, getting to the store about 6am has worked for us every time... and no I won't tell you what town that is :)...
aarads at 11/24/08 03:18pm
Thanks for all the great heads up as what to expect come Black Friday! Another question: Is grabbing a cart out of the question? I've convinced my husband to go to Walmart this year to get a bunch of toys and other little things, but I'm wondering how he's going to carry it all around since it will only be him and a friend.
frankigirl at 11/25/08 12:25am
These are avail on-line. If you look at the ad and click on a larger image..it says "not avail til Friday" I wonder how early you can start ordering though???? I have e-mailed WalMart...I will see if they respond. I know someone who told me you can do that.
okietxan at 11/25/08 11:15am
Actually having a cart is the best idea - but beware, if you leave that cart even for a minute, it might be gone and/or whatever you had in it. I've had things taken out of my cart in front of my nose. It truely is best to go in a bunch - such as one friend in electronics, one in toys, one in another dept and grab as many as you need. Also - on occasion, there has been a limit set by Wal-Mart. It is a lot of fun, but a lot of work and stress.

I was just at my local walmart and they had a sign on the door that said earlybird sale 5-11 but then it said it would open at 4 for our convienence, I'm confused on whether or not you can purchase items before 5. Does anybody have any insite on this?
And if they open at 4 should i get there earlier than that(I live in a town of 7000 with a smallish walmart)?
