Walmart's Pre-Black Friday Sale

Walmart is having a Pre-Black Friday Sale this Saturday, November 8th at 8am. It looks like this will largely be an in-store event, but Walmart will also be having an "Unbelievable" online sale to go along with the in-store event. Four of the top deals in this sale are listed below.

The specifications of the Compaq 15.4" laptop have been discovered and they are

  • Intel Celeron Processor 575 (2.00 GHz, 1MB Cache, 667MHz front-side bus
  • Genuine Windows Vista Home Basic with Service Pack 1
  • 2048MB DDR2 system memory
  • 160GB (5400rpm) hard drive
  • SuperMulti EX DVD +/- R/RW drivve with Double Layer Support
  • 15.4" WXGA high-definition BrightView widescreen display
  • Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD with up to 765MB total video memory
  • 10/100 LAN, 802.11b/g Wireless LAN
  • 3 USB 2.0 ports, Integrated microphone, Integrated Altec Lansing speakers

This is the lowest price we've seen for the PlayStation 3 (provided you use the $100 gift-card), we don't expect laptops to drop much below $300 for Black Friday and the Sanyo 46" 1080p LCD HDTV is the lowest price I've seen for a television for its size and specifications.

Not true...it says there is a Minimum of ten....

Yes, it'd be a good laptop for that price and for a teen to use.

it's built on a intel celeron processor which is the lowest end and obsolete cpu. i would not buy it, although it's cheap.

My local WM SAID they have 32 and I live in a small community

It would be good for someone that just does basic things on the computer, although you will probably want to add more memory. Vista uses a lot of memory and can really slow things down.

Got to Wal-Mart about 7:15 AM. Got directed to the old layaway department. Got a number, waited roughly an hour, scored a laptop! Have yet to unpack it. Very well organized on all fronts. Better than Black Friday, much, much less chaotic.

My brother got the laptop and I got the 46 inch LCD. I was first in line for the TV, good thing too because even though the minimum was supposed to be 10, they only had 5. Something tells me employees got to this before they came from the back. I'm so glad I got there at 6:30, the other four lucky folks walked up right after I did. I haven't hooked up the tv yet, but the thing is huge! I didn't realize there was such a big size difference between 42 and 46! The box fit in the back of my Saturn VUE just fine. It doesn't have bells and whistles (i.e. POP, PIP, etc.) but it will do just fine for me. I need to LCDs, one for main watching and one for my living room (when company is over) so this should serve the living room just fine. The laptop looks real nice. We fired it up and went online and the response time was good, but I have the fastest broadband my area offers. I think its a good machine for internet, email, word processing and excel. I wouldn't get it for heavy graphics, gaming, etc. It has a beautiful LCD screen. We are getting rid of Vista and putting Win XP SP 3 on it tonight. They had 18 laptops at our store, my sister n law went to another store and got her's and she said they had 30 at her store.. go figure. I think at the price point both items were good deals, although I'm sure you will see tvs with more feature on Black Friday, but the chances are slimmer you will get one unless you camp out. So I'm happy I snagged this one with only 1 1/2 hour wait and no pushing, shoving madness. Oh I got the two year warranty for $59, not bad and an HDMI cable for $25. Remember when they used to go for $80 and up? So all and all I'm very pleased. Thank you BFADS!

I bought two of the laptops this morning. One for me and one for my fiance. I went to Wal-Mart about 6 and waited two hours and the store I went to was very well ran. They had 57 in stock and allowed a 2 per person purchase on them. I was only going to buy two but my laptop is on the way out. Even better was they allowed Wal-Mart employees to use their discount on it!!! Anyways good job Wal-Mart for putting together a good Ad and saving all of us Black Friday shoppers some time and money.

I went to the big WalMart in Federal Way, WA
My wife and I arrived there at 05:30 am
Stood in line till 8 am
Bought one laptop each (there were 60 available)
I put Excell on it and it does its' job just fine.
My wife uses it for games in the style of Syberia, Mist, etc.. just fine and can I say much better than a Dell Inspirion.
Don't knwo wht to do about Vista and I have not yet connected a printer or any other peripherals for that matter.
For us this was a great deal! I repeat, for US it was a great deal!
